This year the IBF 2018 was abuzz with wonderful, forward thinking businesses and individuals from a plethora of sectors from around the world.
We enjoyed talks about research into batteries for the future, the projects and plans afoot for Liverpool City Region, including the Mersey renewable energy development plans and the green future of the greatest city in the North*
A particular highlight for Drone Factor was enjoying a virtual reality experience of Tim Peak’s re-entry in the Soyuz capsule recreated by the Science Museum in VR- something absolutely definitely worth experiencing: and our advice is turn the volume up and get fully absorbed, it’s something to behold! Make an effort to seek out this experience and make sure you have your head for heights firmly on!
The walk in, 360 degree exhibits were equally immersive and enthralling, with a wonderful Liverpool tour inside the dome constructed by Laduma.
We enjoyed an inspiring talk and conversation with Dan Ryan about Hothouse UK, [a part of the Eden Project] He’s an Honorary Research Fellow in the University of Exeter’s Biosciences department, and he leads the Eden Project’s Sustainability MSc, run in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University. See Dan’s LinkedIn profile and articles about his amazing work.
All in all an eye opening event chocked full of established business people, alongside upcoming contingents of forward thinking entreprenours; ourselves included! We are already looking ahead to next year!
*might be a biased opinion as we live here! Other northern cities are available!
